Apple Betty/Crisp

This is a fabulous dessert. Its one of those home cooking meals that is wonderful with ice cream and perhaps a slice of sharp cheddar cheese. Served warm or cold, its awesome either way.

Cut up 4 or 5 large applies (skinned and cored) in a baking dish and sprinkle with white sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg

Mix the following:

6 tbsp rolled oats
4 tbsp brown sugar
3 tbsp butter
pinch of salt

Bake in moderate oven 350-375F until apples are cooked.

** Fresh peaches or rhubarb can also be used in lieu of apples.
